Long Night's Moon

I've never known Where we're going Down to you But please remember We see the same moon You've never seen The times where My heart was most untrue But don't forget I know yours was too Well I'm trying to find Someone worth my time As cold and warm inside Now distance between us And no reason to trust In the evenings blanket night As the moon's light shines We've always grown From youthful pictures Too full adults With problems that Seem as real as ghosts Well I'm trying to find Someone worth my time As cold and warm inside Now distance between us And no reason to trust In the evenings blanket night As the moon's light shines

First time I met you was when you dyed your hair I'd seen your image on the wall where I stared Doing that made me feel very meek With all the shouting in my head Helped with this streak We sat on a park bench meant for two As we were watching two frogs Playing around Next to me and you The games seem so dumb Moving our hands Just to pretend we could be other creatures Instead Your confidence exudes the hindsight of youth But so is my will to get to the truth Didn't know your name Nor you did mine But we've seen this from time till time We sat on a park bench meant for two As we remembered a musical We both loved And danced too The games seem so dumb Moving our hands Just to pretend we could be other creatures Instead We sat on a park bench We sat on a park bench We sat on a park bench We sat on a park bench meant for not just one but two It was for me and you

I am a polymath lover Who could annoy you Like no other While I'm reading and singing and dreaming By the end of the summer It's not the best of notions But I've been known for my different devotions Of alchemy, astronomy, and chemistry To understand the numbers I switch love languages often I'll be blabbing till I'm asleep with nothing I know I can be a real jerk But can you humor me by viewing this artwork It's about the music, altruistic, idealistic ways of living Is the conversation going nowhere Because I've got a lot before tomorrow's affairs To be resonant, reliant, compliant for my class tomorrow I'll ponder the concept of existence But I can't pay for my own apartment After this time together Could you have wished for anyone better Wait now your leaving, and I'm screaming for regretting To speak of others So now I'm left with commotion Thinking over my random devotions To subjects, objects, and artifacts With no meaning I'll never learn my lesson Because I'm a slave to contradictions

Her Hands 03:33
She was young and her hands always bled With piercing pain she needed to tread Broken bandages covered in skin As she grew up Her fortunes began to change Glistened in compliments for her to engage Regardless of her hands To love her was to sacrifice your self sorrow As soon as she was ready She'd be gone Tomorrow Off to the great east And she dreamed of dancers both young and far For they were from different lands You couldn't get to in a car And as the season changed and past She took on new friends Giving her the convos I never grasped Now I never meant to change her mind That would be blasphemous For both her And I Without even a try The distance craved was finally met With both parties happy With love And no regrets I'm sure she has long forgotten about her hands I knew she could do it With or without The help of my

about

Long Night's Moon is a small collection of songs about love and how distance plays a role in each relationship.
Emphasizing the singer/songwriter sound, the EP delves into how emotional and physical distance affects how we engage and navigate relationships. Love is an overwritten topic, but this short collection of songs not only expands the Charlie Steady catalog stylistically but offers the most intimate lyrics in his short career. -Seth A. Craig
